Day 1: Arrival - Colombo to Sigiriya
Begin your Sri Lankan adventure upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. Visit the Pinnawala
Elephant Orphanage en route to Sigiriya to interact with the gentle giants. Conclude your day with a visit
to the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient frescoes and
strategic architecture.
Day 2: Sigiriya to Kandy
Journey to Kandy, visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple, renowned for its impressive Buddha images and
rock paintings. Explore the aromatic Spice and Herbal Garden in Matale and experience the spiritual
ambiance at the Nalanda Gedige and Matale Hindu Temple before arriving in Kandy to visit the sacred
Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Day 3: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy before traveling to Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy the picturesque views
of tea plantations and the Ramboda or St. Clairs’ Falls. Experience a cup of Sri Lanka’s finest tea right at
the source. Optionally, engage in white water rafting if taking the route through Kitulgala.
Day 4: Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park, then embark on a scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to
Ella. This journey offers breathtaking views of Sri Lanka’s lush landscapes.
Day 5: Ella to Tissamaharama
Start your day with a hike to Little Adam’s Peak and visit the Nine Arch Bridge. Explore the Rawana Cave
Temple and witness the majestic Rawana Falls before proceeding to Tissamaharama, stopping at the
Buduruwagala Temple along the way.
Day 6: Tissamaharama to Mirissa
Embark on an early morning safari in Yala National Park, known for its rich diversity of wildlife. After
lunch, travel to the coastal town of Mirissa for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Mirissa to Hikkaduwa
Begin another early morning with whale watching in Mirissa. Visit a turtle hatchery and see the stilt
fishermen in action. Enjoy the beautiful Unawatuna Beach and explore the historic Galle Dutch Fort and
its lighthouse before heading to Hikkaduwa for the night.
Day 8: Hikkaduwa to Negombo
Discover Hikkaduwa’s corals through a glass-bottom boat tour and explore the Moonstone Mine. Take a
Madu River boat safari and visit a mask museum and workshop before concluding your journey in
Negombo or transferring to Colombo Airport for your departure.
